Dear Family!!!
So I wrote a lot to
my mission president this week so I thought I would share and pass it on. Truly I saw the Lord in my life this week. Dad
you asked how we find ways to serve? There are a couple of ways. I am excited. This week we are going
to give tours of the chapel on Tuesday. Its kind of weird cause we
can’t teach but we can answer questions and take referrals. So, I
am excited. We also are going this Saturday to clean a
health clinic. Woo, woo service, I love it. I am growing to love my area
more and more each day. We are meeting incredibly prepared
people and the story's are in the letter to President.
But, business first,
I need to know what the plan is for mother’s day. How are we planning on
talking to everyone and if that is what we are going to do, how with Jake’s
time difference? When would we do it? Are we going to try to do Skype because
if so I am scared because I don't know how to use computers? I don't know
how to connect or call or I don't even think I have
an account or know the account of our family. So please write
me specific instructions on what the plan is and how to well hah make
it work. There is a woman in my ward again who has a phone to call to the USA
for free. So that is an option.
Let’s see what else. Thank
you all for writing me........I will read all your letters later on
today but I saw Tania pictures of the house....!!!!!!!!!! Is it her
house or is she renting.....or did you actually buy a house!!??? It’s gorgeous I
love it and I really like the back yard it’s so pretty!!!!
Thank you for your
messages and prayers I really needed them this week and I felt them and I saw
miracles and I know it’s because I have a family who is praying and
thinking of me. Thank you all. I love you so much.
Super excited to call
and talk to you all in two weeks!!!!
Dear President,
Wow, so a lot has
happened this week and we have seen miracles upon miracles. It’s been truly
amazing. I am not going to lie the first two weeks here were hard. No
investigators, no references, no nuevos but this week, I have seen the hand of
the Lord in our work and it’s been amazing how he has put us in the right place
at the right time to find his children that are ready. This week we
stopped and talked to a woman on the street that was reading her bible. We past
two times and both times I felt prompted to talk to her and the second time we
did. We found out that she lost 5 of her 9 brother and sisters and that she
thought that they were lost and that she would never see them again. I was so
....happy, and full of hope to say no we will see our families again and we will
live with them for all eternity. She was so surprised to hear that. She said
that she thought she would never see them again because that is what her pastor
told her. We pulled out the plan of salvation and we talked with her about the
plan of happiness, the plan of hope, and the love of our God. It was truly amazing
to literally see the hope well up in the eyes of this woman as we talked with
her. I was humbled to realize that truly we have the knowledge of the truth and
there are people in darkness and in despair just because they have not heard
the message yet. We left her with a Book of Mormon and we are going back this Wednesday
and I am so excited to explain everything.
We also have this
family in our ward. They have been inactive for years.....years ....to the
point where the members didn't know where they lived. We found out through the
security and we went to try and find them. We found the house. The first time
they were not there. The second time we got there and well we knocked and
knocked and then this voice came through the door. “Who is there? What do you
want?” We told them we were looking for
the Hasbun family and there was a long pause. I and my companion were praying
hard for them to just let us in. There was a long pause and finally they opened
the door. We went in and had a good chat with them and shared a message and wow
the spirit was so strong. The mother started to cry and said we came to finish
a perfect day. She said that they really needed us there!!! Wow we were on like
cloud nine coming out of that house. We will go back this week super excited!!!!!
Another miracle, we
were walking back to our house and a woman started to walk behind us. I had the
feeling of just turning around and talking to her.....I didn't do it for a
while but I kept looking backwards because the spirit wouldn't let me be. Ha, I
am so slow sometimes I need to work on that. But finally, I turned around and
started to talk to her and we found out she was going home from visiting her
mother who is very ... well sick. She fell and broke her leg and can’t move and
do anything for herself. So, her daughter goes everyday and helps but she was
telling us it was so hard for her to move her mom to bath her and to move her from
place to place. Without a second thought, I just told this woman that we were
missionaries and that we were here to serve and we would love to come and help
her in the morning if she needed it. She was so surprised and she said that
would be great and so we took her address and we went the next day.....This is
the sweetest loveliest family I have ever seen. They are catholic by tradition
and we are starting to teach them about the restoration and I think little by
little they will understand and come to the truth. But wow God has blessed us
so much this week. I love the people we are meeting and teaching. Truly God
prepares the hearts of those we meet and serve.
We are sad that Hermana
Massina left and excited for Hermana Perry!!!
Thank you for all you do truly
....thank you
Hermana Hale
Oh, right, I need to tell you Hermana
Massina had changes and Hermana Perry is now living with us. We haven't moved
into the house yet because the house is not ready. The owner was a little mad
we didn't move today but May is when the rain comes and
there is parts of the roof that leek really bad. So they are planning
on fixing it. I hope hah. I love you all so very much!!!!
Hermana Stephanie Hale
